External Work Started Today at The Barn Bar

Brian has started work on the new beer garden immediately outside the pub. The pergola is being taken down and relocated and we're adding a weatherproof roof to create a covered area to house our new BBQ table! See below!
As far as we know this will be the first Cole Henley BBQ table in Argyll and we hope it will be a great attraction.

The Bar Stonework is Finished!

We're delighted with the new stone work around the bar. It already looks as if it has always been there and is perfect with our 'rustic' decor! (And No I don't mean Jim!)
The chap behind the bar is Paul - he saw our Facebook post looking for new bar staff and has not looked back.
If you have not visited The Barn's Facebook page do have a look - and LIKE us.

Jubilee Plans at Cologin

We're busy planning our Jubille celebrations for The Barn Bar and Cologin. We hope to be hosting a local Craft/Farmers Market in the main car park on Sunday followed by A Big Lunch @ The Barn Bar and a jubilee beacon aka a big bonfire!

There are still some lodges and chalets available for the Spring bank holiday but don't delay as demand is likely to outstrip supply especially as the weather is usually good at that time of year!

NEW KITCHEN EQUIPMENT ARRIVED TODAY!

Finally, after what seems a very long wait, the new cooker, dishwasher, icemaker and glass washer all arrived at once along with boxes and boxes of lovely new white crockery. Total chaos in the pub just now but it should all be in place soon enough.
Can't wait.......

Brilliant Bargain Break

Itison members are currently benefitting from a superb deal on short break stays at Cologin. Obviously there are some conditions attached to this incredible £10pppn offer and the phone lines are very busy as folk snap up a bargain break for friends and family but we still have availability.

Itison do offer some great deals to members and we've bought several vouchers ourselves through the company over the past year. As long as you are prepared to be flexible with your dates then it's a fantastic saving. If you can only use the voucher on a specific date then my advice would be think again as the popular dates for school holidays etc always sell out very quickly.

It's the second time we've run an offer with Itison and it's nice to see that several members have already re-booked this time around. We look forward to welcoming them back.

WINTER WINE TASTING WITH INVERARITY VAULTS

Well it's taken a little longer than we expected but we finally have a date for the wine tasting evening at The Barn Bar. Come along and join us on Thursday 2nd February for some free white and red wines - all we ask in return is your feedback so we can pick the best for the bar's new winelist.

And don't worry non wine drinkers the bar will be open from 5pm. (Wine tasting will run from 7.30 - 9.30pm) Sadly the kitchens are still closed for refurbishment so no meals - just drinks!

STORM BRINGS DOWN PHONE LINES!

Sorry to have been out of touch but the storm force winds caused havoc in Argyll and we lost our phone lines for 4 days. BT has now put a temporary repair on our lines and we are finally back in communication. It is quite frightening how reliant we are on the internet  - not just for bookings but for pretty much everything! Even The Barn Bar had problems as you can't take a credit card payment when there is no phone line!

Everything back up and running now and apart from a few roof tiles from one of the chalets, some guttering and a few trees down, we have not had too much damage. I was fairly surprised to find my office intact on Friday morning as the dutch barn roof was at one point flapping in the wind!
