Happy Christmas and Hogmanay!

I hope you completely and utterly over indulged this Christmas and you are now looking forward to Hogmanay! For the second year running we opened the Barn Bar for a few hours on Christmas Day to share a glass of Bucks Fizz with the locals and our regular Christmas guests. There was a lovely festive atmosphere and despite the logistical challenge of cooking Christmas dinner for 11 whilst being sociable in the pub it was a great start to a fantastic day with friends and family. The goose was very tasty and the turkey cooked through - always a good thing!

We're now turning our attention to New Year - the bonfire will need to be built and there is always a last minute flurry of late availability requests from those that watch the weather forecasts before they decide where to spend Hogmanay! And of course we're offering a few TWIXMAS special deals for those that like to take a quick break before New Year.

I don't think 2012 will go out with a bang weather wise. As long as it is not blowing a gale we will have our fireworks and bonfire at midnight. The Brass Monkeys are booked to play their classic covers and the new outside/inside area should prove a massive hit for Hogmanay as it will allow us to offer extra tables for dinner before the music gets going and provide a warm sheltered area for young kids after the watershed!

Here's hoping you have all had a wonderful Christmas and that you enjoy a fabulous Hogmanay. Take care and see you in 2013!
